Steve Tatis

Steve was born and raised in Miami, FL. He currently resides in Austin, Texas. He started his health care career in 1992 and still enjoys it today. He has been a licensed EMT/PARAMEDIC since 2007. His experience is primarily in the hospital environment. Steve’s health care journey includes ICU, Trauma ER, concierge services, and outpatient laboratory settings. Steve is proficient in guest relations, critical thinking, and time management. He loves to spend time with his wife, son, and his dog. His favorite activities include mountain biking, traveling, soccer, and he recently joined Gateway Church where he has found a new community from which to draw positive experiences from. Steve is enthusiastic and energized to invite a new generation into the field of phlebotomy.

Shannon Godwin

Shannon was born and raised in Texas and is a graduate of West Texas A&M University. She started her phlebotomy career in 2015 with Baylor Scott & White as a Laboratory Technician and soon thereafter promoted to a Laboratory Supervisor overseeing two outpatient clinics. Shannon is certified through the American Society for Clinical Pathology and has experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings caring for patients of all ages. Shannon loves plants, animals, and enjoys reading books, watching TV, and spending time with family and friends. Most of her time is spent with her SO, Seth, and their two dogs, Penelope and Morty. Shannon is friendly, fun, easy going, and she cannot wait to have you in her class to teach you everything she knows and has experienced in the great phlebotomy world.

Courtney Lewis-Nickerson

Courtney is a life long Brenham, Texas resident. She started her career as a phlebotomist in 2013 and never left. She has been apart of Labcorp’s team for past 6 years. She has worked for several other companies as PST and comes highly skilled. She got certified in 2021 as Instructor and immediately following gained a site coordinator position at Labcorp PSC. She has dedicated the last 11 years to the art & skill of phlebotomy and her mission is to help recruit, train, retain the upcoming generation of technicians properly and efficiently. This stems from her passion of being an empathetic people first type of person and wanting to provide a service she would want to her clients. Her education started in Brenham, where she obtained her diploma from Blinn College in 2003, followed by the PBT (Phlebotomy) certification in 2013. In addition she sat for the national exam and successfully passed in 2013 to be certified through ASCP. Later on in 2021, She added the instructor certification from National Phlebotomy Specialist. Currently she is a student of College of Healthcare Professionals and will complete her degree in Healthcare Management. She enjoys her career with a full heart and looks forward to jump starting your future in Phlebotomy.
